We have a beautiful neighborhood and a wonderful place to live and raise a family.  We are trying very hard to improve our communications within the neighborhood.

We are working to identify and plan social events that promote the strong community spirit we have in Fairfield and are always open to the suggestions and ideas from residents for new items our events.  If you have ideas for additional features you would like to see included on this page or would like to be added to the email distribution, please contact the Fairfield Civic Association.

Criminal Activity in Newark Neighborhoods

Several neighborhoods in the City of Newark are reporting increased incidents of burglaries and vandalism in their neighborhoods.  Fortunately, Fairfield does not appear to be seeing a trend of increased criminal activity.  However we would like to start monitoring incidents that occur in Fairfield to be aware of an increase that would require attention to prevent.

We regularly walk our two dogs and recently walked them in the evening.  It was shocking how many people forgot to shut their garage doors.  Please remember to close your garage doors and if you see a neighbors’ garage door open, give them a friendly reminder.

If any Fairfield resident is unfortunate and is a victim of a criminal incident or vandalism please be sure to report it to the City of Newark Police Department and also drop us a note at fairfieldcommunications@comcast.net to inform us so that we can update the page to inform other Fairfield residents and monitor for an increased trend that might require action to prevent.

Each week the Newark Police Department publishes a weekly report that also contains information that may be of interest to residents.  We are now adding a link to the Newark Police Weekly Reports to the links section below that can be used to view these reports.  We used to carry the Newark Post’s Police Blotter on our News page but they have recently added surrounding area’s to the page instead of concentrating solely on Newark.
